Meet
The Mom BFF

I’m an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), as well as a Child Passenger Safety Technician (CPST). That means in addition to lactation help, I can assist you with your car seats all the way from infant seat to big-kid booster.

I pride myself on a warm, authentic approach and the ability to befriend pretty much anyone. After 15 years in the corporate world, I decided to take that superpower, go back to school, and learn how to help new parents.

Does insurance cover lactation care?

The short answer is, Yes! Usually. The Affordable Care Act mandates that non-grandfathered private insurance plans (including Marketplace and employer-based plans) are required to cover prenatal and postnatal lactation counseling throughout the entire duration of breastfeeding. I partner with two third-party billing services to make it easier for both of us.

Aetna, United, or BCBS of IL

I can bill Aetna, United Healthcare, or Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois through The Lactation Network (TLN).

Cigna

If you’re covered by Cigna, I partner with in-network Wildflower Health to deliver affordable, efficient lactation care.

Other Insurance/Self-pay

Pay out of pocket and get reimbursed by your insurance or FSA/HSA. I’ll provide a superbill and next steps. I accept Apple Pay, Venmo, & Zelle.

I believe the ability to pay should never get in the way of getting the help you need. If you’re looking for lactation support and are worried about affording it, please contact me.

When times get tough, I’ll meet you where you are.

Empowering moms, one visit at a time

  • "I recently had my third child and had considered myself a breastfeeding pro, but quickly learned that each baby has their own unique set of challenges. ... I highly suggest the Mom BFF to anyone facing feeding struggles, even for seasoned moms in need of advice."

    Stephanie B.

  • "Rachel is incredible. Plain and simple. ... She helped me to discover new positions for feeding my son and walked me through how to approach an exclusive pumping plan. I felt extremely supported and cared for. I can’t recommend Rachel highly enough. Not only is she a wealth of information, she also makes you feel like her best friend."

    Mandy P.

  • "Rachel is absolutely amazing. I have breastfed both my babies past 2 years and she has been there every step of the way. I would NOT have been successful in my breastfeeding journey without her. ... If you’re serious about your breastfeeding journey and you want it to be successful, I highly recommend Rachel."
